This event brings together student scholars and their families, faculty and staff mentors, other members of the KSC community, area legislators, university trustees, and members of the Keene community in celebration of academic research and other forms of scholarship.
The objective of this project is to create a functional model of Keene State College for students that have visually impaired ailments. This will be beneficial for all students, faculty, and even the community of Keene.By using a map of the Keene State College, and some of the buildings floor plans of the various buildings on our campus. We created a digital map of the campus, first using the software called Rhino then switched to Soildworks. Where we would make points which lead to making 3-dimenational forms of our campus on the computer. Doing this we made the college campus' buildings, streets, sidewalks/paths, doors, dorms. Along with that we have made the building numbered in braille, with a legend in braille as well. By doing this students can touch and read this map and get a better understanding of the campus. We have the hopes of 3D print this map and to coordinate with the library to display this. This project demanded the work to collaboration between multiple educational departments inducing the office of disabilities, the Art department, and The TSD department. With the hopes of making Keene State College a more inclusive place and encourage diversity.
